ZOOM DOCENT TOUR: Highlights of the National Postal Museum - Free & Open to All

Highlights of the National Postal Museum
Friday, September 8, 1:30-2:30 pm

Presented by an expert panel of docents each showcasing their own favorite objects, this interactive tour brings the National Postal Museum to you. What can we learn about American history when we look at it through the lens of mail and communication? What is the connection between the Titanic and the mail? What role have stamps played in history? The United States Postal Service's Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee and how does it play a role in our daily lives? What special contributions have postal carriers made? Come learn all that and more on an engaging virtual tour that covers highlights of the National Postal Museum collection. The National Postal Museum houses the National Philatelic Collection. The museum includes many artifacts and displays about the history of the United States Postal Service and of mail services around the world. There is a ton of history to see there: From an original stagecoach to a mail railroad car, objects from the 9/11 terror attack, items of mail stolen by the Indians in 1860 and recovered two years later, and much more.

The Zoom login information will be sent to confirmed registrants.
