How Reading Partners Helps DC Children Become Lifelong Readers
According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, only about 35% of our nation's students overall, and only 21% of students experiencing poverty, are reading proficiently by fourth grade, and once students start to fall behind in reading, they tend to fall faster and further behind their peers with each year. These numbers have not changed significantly in the past 15 years. Featured on Good Morning America and endorsed by The New York Times, Reading Partners empowers communities to provide individualized instruction with measurable results.
