The Avalon Theatre: Then & Now

The Avalon Theatre is the oldest operating movie theater in Washington, DC and the city’s only nonprofit cinema house. Over the years it has remained a highly valued institution in the Chevy Chase neighborhood and the entire metropolitan area. As the theater approaches its centennial year and the 20th anniversary as a nonprofit, there are many fascinating stories to be told about its history, its architecture, and its unique programming. Learn more about the past, present and future of this cultural landmark, including exciting plans for the celebration of the centennial.<br /><br />Host Village: Northwest Neighbors Village<br />Registration: Registration limited to 100 attendees and is required. <br />Access: 24 hours before the event, attendees will receive the Zoom link in an email from Northwest Neighbors Village titled &quot;Northwest Neighbors Village Event Reminder” with the event name included.
