About this event
The Avalon Theatre is the oldest operating movie theater in Washington, DC and the city’s only nonprofit cinema house. Over the years it has remained a highly valued institution in the Chevy Chase neighborhood and the entire metropolitan area. As the theater approaches its centennial year and the 20th anniversary as a nonprofit, there are many fascinating stories to be told about its history, its architecture, and its unique programming.
