Alexandria's Pilgrimage Toward Racial Reckoning
About this event
This month's Racial Equity discussion will feature two special guests: Audrey Davis, the director of Alexandria’s Black History Museum and Tiffany Pache, the coordinator of the Alexandria Community Remembrance Project. Both were instrumental in spearheading Alexandria's recent pilgrimage to Montgomery, Alabama to visit the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. At that site is a pillar that recognizes two lynchings that took place in our city in the late 1890s but were not known about until recently. The five-year process that led to this trip was remarkable--and the work and reckoning continues. The city has made a commitment to recognize victims Joseph McCoy and Benjamin Thomas. Audrey and Tiffany will share powerful stories from the recent pilgrimage and discuss the continued work of the initiative.

SPONSOR: At Home In Alexandria
REGISTRATION: Registration is required by Nov. 16.
