Lifestyle Factors Affecting Risk of Alzheimer's Disease, Dr. Marilyn Albert, Johns Hopkins

About this event

Lifestyle Factors Affecting the Risk of Alzheimer's Disease
Wednesday, March 13 | 2-3:30 p.m. | FREE & Open to Everyone

Alzheimer’s disease risk is likely influenced by a combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Though research continues, evidence suggests that people can reduce their risk of Alzheimer’s and related brain disorders.

Dr. Marilyn Albert, from the Department of Neurology of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Director of the Johns Hopkins Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, will update us on the latest research related to the potential role of lifestyle factors in modifying dementia risk. Lifestyle factors under discussion will include cognitive activity, physical activity, social engagement, and vascular risk factors (including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, and smoking).

This event, sponsored by Suburban Hospital, is in partnership with Friendship Heights Neighbors Network and is part of FHNN's collaboration with Little Falls Village. It is open to all. Please use the Register Now button and Suburban will send you the link.

On May 9, 2023, Dr. Albert spoke to FHNN and other community members on the Recent Advances in Alzheimer's Diagnosis and Treatment.
