About this event
One major malady facing seniors today is that of loneliness and isolation. Clinicians Chenelle Ellie and Maggie Blackburn will discuss why many seniors in our area are facing issues of physical and social loneliness and feelings of isolation and falling to the wayside of life.
They will also provide tools to help participants understand the mechanisms underlying such feelings as well as offer strategies to redirect energies to positive action rather than depressive reactions.
Although the Zoom virtual format is not meant to provide a one-on-one dialogue between patient and therapist, it does enable a sharing of ideas, techniques, and enforcement actions that can be used individually to combat potential fears and depression related to living alone physically and psychologically.
The presentation is being hosted by North Bethesda Village. Questions about the presentation can be emailed to park21217@aol.com. Attendance is by ZOOM only. A Zoom link for the session will be sent to all registered via email about 1 week before the session.
