About this event
Silver Spring Village will present a discussion with Tom Crowley, a Montgomery County resident and author of 6+ fiction and non-fiction books and articles about his experiences in Asia. Tom’s career included military service, foreign service postings, and corporate work. Eventually he decided to change directions in life and volunteered to work for the Mercy Centre, a world-renowned street kids charity based in the Klong Toey slum area of Bangkok, Thailand. Eventually he began writing. His most recent book, "Mercy's Heroes," recounts his fourteen years as a volunteer working at that charitable facility. Tom’s “Matt Chance” action/adventure novel series about a former US Army Ranger includes "Viper’s Tail" and "Murder in the Slaughterhouse," which received a bronze medal award from the Military Writers Society of America. He has also published "Shrapnel Wounds," "Bangkok Pool Blues," "Bangkok Gamble," and several related articles. Tom is a member of the Mystery Writers of America and the International Thriller Writers. He will share some of his life experiences and his journey to becoming a writer then open the floor for discussion with attendees. Please plan to join us for this interesting talk from a local, published, mystery/thriller writer.

RSVP by email to programs@silverspringvillage.org
