1. Village Gathering 2016 materials
It took a while but the 2016 Montgomery County Villages Gathering materials are finally on the web!
2. County Council and County Executive Community Grants
I plan to hold a short seminar on tips for villages in the proposal development. I do not know the date yet but it will take place sometime in mid-December, so stay tuned for new updates.
3. National Institute on Aging is seeking a village to pilot Go4Life campaign
Stephanie Daley from NIA is looking a village to partner with, a village who is interested in developing resources that would encourage people to adopt an active life style. She is interested in offering workshop/seminar events with you.

4. Mental Health Resources:
Publication: Mental Health in Later Life: A Guidebook for Older Marylanders and the People Who Care for Them
Provider: Affiliated Santé Group: Offers free home visits for seniors that do not have any other mental health provider.
Video: I have a training video for village volunteers that was offered by Sybil Greenhut and Bonnie Clem (both are HHS staff) on the warning signs that volunteers need to watch out for. If you would like one, please let me know.
5. Maryland Caregivers report:
Here is a link to the Final Report from the Task Force on Family Caregiving and Long-Term Supports. This report was submitted to the Governor and President of the Senate & Speaker of the House of Delegates. It was also presented in September at a Briefing before the House's Health and Government Operations Committee.
6. Aging and Diversity workshop: December 6th, 2016 @Silver Spring Civic Building
For those of you who are interested in aging and diversity in Montgomery County, you are invited to attend this ECHO workshop. This is an HHS initiative that focuses each year on a different topic and this year they picked aging. Please see attached flyer. There is a RSVP deadline of November 17th.
